Ken, I enjoyed the article, but disagree.

Ken, I enjoyed the article, but disagree. I have spent a long life in photography, starting out with a cheap enlarger balanced on my parents’ toilet seat cover with bathroom windows blacked out, I absolutely love the way digital media give me the chance to produce fiction AND fact! I think your article is a clever plea for the greatness of documentary journalism over the merely “easy” stuff like novels. The best part of the evolution is that, in order to produce good work, the standards of the finished product are usually much higher than they used to be and call even more for imagination and effort. I take pride in my documentary work, AND my Fictography! The dissolution of the silo walls of the different visual arts is a wonderful challenge, and a wonderful opportunity. When people ask me about my profession, I tell them “story-teller.”
